Privacy Policy — Remarkable Places

Remarkable Places (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a travel agency that plans and arranges custom travel for our clients. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email remarkableplaces@gmail.com.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to plan your travel:

Contact details — your name, email, and home city.
Trip-planning details — party size, travel preferences and style, dietary needs or allergies, key dates, past trips, frequent-flyer numbers, and an emergency contact you provide.
Itinerary & booking references — the components and confirmation numbers for trips we arrange for you.
Limited technical data — basic device/browser information when you use our web tools, plus small data stored on your device to keep you signed in or to let your itinerary work offline.

Information we deliberately do NOT store. To keep your most sensitive data safe, we do not hold it in our system:

Passport numbers, dates of birth, and Known Traveler / Global Entry numbers — these are kept in our accredited booking partner’s system, not ours.
Payment card or bank details — payments are handled by our booking partner and payment processors. We never store card numbers.

How we use your information

To plan, quote, book, and manage your trips.
To communicate with you about your travel.
To provide your personalized online itinerary (a private, secure link/app).
To keep the records needed to run our business.

We do not sell your personal information.

How we store and protect it

Your information is held in a secured, access-controlled database and web tools. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access requires an individual login — only authorized Remarkable Places team members can view client data. Your personal online itinerary is reachable only through a private, unguessable link that we share with you.

Who we share it with

We share your information only as needed to arrange your travel:

Travel suppliers we book on your behalf (hotels, tour operators, transfers, airlines, DMCs).
Our accredited booking partner (Travel Leaders / AgentMate), through which bookings and commissions are processed.
Service providers that run our tools — including Supabase (database hosting), Netlify (web hosting), and Google (maps and location information).

We require these parties to handle your information appropriately, and we may disclose information if required by law.

Cookies and local storage

Our tools use minimal cookies and local storage — to keep team members signed in and to let your itinerary app load offline. We do not use them for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as needed to serve you and to meet legal and accounting requirements, then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under California’s CCPA and the EU/UK GDPR — you may have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you;
Correct or update it;
Delete it;
Object to or restrict certain processing;
Receive a copy of it.

We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email remarkableplaces@gmail.com and we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

Children’s privacy

Our services are intended for adults arranging travel. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children; any details about minor travelers are provided by the adult booking the trip.

International transfers

We may process your information in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We take steps to protect it consistent with this policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the updated version here with a new effective date.
